Comfort Pads

Easycare comfort pads are the ideal compliment to almost any hoof boot in the Easycare range. The comfort pad is a flat pad designed to increase comfort and reduce concussion. Comfort pads increase heel comfort so that all horses- sound or unsound- are encouraged to move correctly. Comfort pads can also be a useful tool to improve the fit of a boot. A comfort pad will provide cushioning, additional protection and and shock absorption to the hoof as well as support to the frog. Comfort pads are an excellent aid in transitioning a horse from shod to barefoot, and exercise both the internal and external structures of the hoof to help build a stronger hoof capsule.

Comfort pads are available in three densities; soft, medium and hard.

• Soft are ideal for very sore horses, or as the top pad in a stack if required.
• Medium is the most popular density as it offers resistance coupled with a good amount of give.
• Hard is useful to lift the hoof up if the heel is short or the hoof sits too low in a boot.

Comfort pads come in two thicknesses:

• 6mm which is ideal for everyday use, or to stack in any density combination to alter the fit of a boot if the heels are very short or the hoof sits too low in the boot.
• 12mm are a brilliant pad to help encourage a hoof to strengthen and improve, a soft or medium 12mm is usually the best pad to use on a transitioning horse, the more sore the horse is the softer the pad should be.

Comfort Pad System

The comfort pad system is produced for the Easyboot range of boots only and is sold as a complete kit consisting of 18 pairs of pads (6 pairs of frog support pads in 3 densities, 6 pairs of sole pads in 3 densities and 6 pairs of frog pressure pads in 3 densities). Pairs of each type of pad are also available individually to special order as replacements.

The comfort pad system has been designed with hoof care professionals in mind, and advice should be sought regarding their use to ensure the most suitable combination for the individual horse for their optimum performance.

The comfort pad system allows you to mix and match the pad styles to allow the ideal set up for each individual horse. There are 3 densities of pads: soft, medium and hard. The pads come in three different styles:

• The Frog Support Pad can be used with any of the sole pads. This gives the horse owner the opportunity to apply different pressure to the sole and frog areas. The wedge of the frog support pad is ½” thick.
• The Sole Pad allows you to apply various comfort levels to the sole area of the hoof. The sole pad can be used alone for frog pressure relief, or in conjunction with the frog support or frog pressure pads. The sole pad is ½” thick.
• The Frog Pressure Pad can be used with any of the sole pads. This gives the horse owner the opportunity to apply frog pressure in conjunction with three different comfort levels for the sole independently. The wedge of the frog pressure pad is 1” thick.

Dome Comfort Pads

Dome pads are a specialist pad, designed to compliment the concave shape of a well formed hoof. It is important to align the pads so that the concave part of the pad fits into the concave area on the horses hoof. Dome comfort pads have many uses, and are popular amongst endurance riders and hoof care professionals. Due to the nature of these therapeutic pads, it is advised that professional advice is sought before their use, and that their use is discontinued if the horse shows any sign of discomfort when using them. These pads are not suitable for horses that are flat footed or have a protruding frog.

Hoof Boot Stowaway

The Hoof Boot Stowaway is ideal to keep a spare boot or two with you when out riding in case of emergencies. The Easycare stowaway bag will hold up to two size 4 Easyboot range boots, or one boa or old mac’s boot. It also has two extra handy compartments for accessories. It has a heavy duty clip on top with tie strings to attach anywhere on the saddle, and is made from 420D ripstop outer fabric with a waterproof urethane backing. The stowaway is an exceptionally well made carry bag, featuring a foam padded bottom panel, lined with durable short pile fleece to protect the saddle and the horse from the weight of the contents. The extended nylon tabbed zip pulls allow easy access to all compartments and the outer seams are reinforced with durable binding.

Power Strap for the Easyboot Glove

The power strap is ideal for use with the glove if you have gaps along the top of the boot, or if you ride in extreme conditions. The glove power strap helps to keep the upper portion of the glove shell fit tighter around the hoof. The tighter fit the power strap gives the boot helps to keep dirt and grit out of the boot. The power strap also helps to improve the fit of the glove on feet with flair or imbalances and also aids in keeping the boot centred in extreme conditions.

Easyfoam Kit

The Easyfoam kit is for use in Easy boot (or Bare/Grip without a gaiter fitted) only. Consists of two liquid components, that are poured into the boot before fitting, which expand to make an exact fitting flexible liner. Easyfoam seals out dirt and grit, cushions and protects the hoof, and acts as an adhesive. Easyfoam is recommended for horses used in extreme conditions such as competitive long distance rides, deep mud or rocky terrain. Easyfoam has not been designed for use with the Glue-On.

Easycare/Old Macs Gaiters

One pair of gaiters to fit either Old Mac’s or Boas. Recommended for sandy or muddy conditions and often useful when first wearing in new hoof boots. Gaiters can also be helpful where the horse has thin pasterns to take up the gap, and provide cushioning and protection against rubbing. Sold in pairs.

Pastern Wraps

Pull on design, for use with Old Mac’s original or G2 hoof boots. The pastern wraps provide extra cushioning and protection of the sensitive pastern and heel bulbs. Fully aerated, hook and loop fastening, sold in pairs.

Old Mac’s Inserts

For use in Old Mac’s when there is excessive gap at the side of the boot due to a long, narrow hoof, or to help prevent a boot from twisting by allowing the boot to grip the hoof more snugly. Sold as a pack of 4 to fit a pair of boots.

Easycare Boot Studs- Pack of 4

Studs designed for use with any appropriate hoof boot. It is recommended that 4 studs per boot are used to keep the hoof balanced. The studs provide durability and ultimate traction.

Easyboot Buckle Lock Pin

Supplied as a pack of 10, these split pins are designed to lock down the front buckle of the Easyboot. Especially useful when riding on rocky terrain.

Replacement Comfort Strap

Standard on the Epic, Bare and Grip. Lower profile comfort strap with bevelled edge that makes boot application easier. Complete with screws, not suitable for the Easyboot. Sold individually.

Easyboot Taper

Supplied as one pair to allow one Epic, Bare or Grip to work without a backstrap. Complete with screws, nuts and washers the taper is ideal for horses with very low heels or to allow a slightly longer hoof to fit in an existing boot. Not suitable for use on the Easyboot.

Easy Dirt Skirt

Dirt skirts can be cut to fit pony - size 4 easy boots. 1” thick light, spongy foam designed to provide extra cushioning and keep out dirt, grit and other debris out of the easy boot. Pack of 8.

Boa Lace

Replacement single lace, tool and instructions. When a lace has snapped just inside the mechanism and the fragment is not retrievable, a new dial mechanism may also be needed.

Gaiter for the Easyboot/Epic/Grip/Bare

Comes complete with screw set, sold individually.

Gaiter for the Glove/Glue-On

Comes complete with screw set and additional instructions describing how to add the gaiter to a Glue On boot. Sold individually.
